Restylane® and Captique® are similar forms of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid. We use them for moderately deep lines and wrinkles, such as the melolabial folds between the cheeks and upper lip. We also use them for augmentation of the upper lip.
Hyaluronic acid derivatives are identical in all species and tissue types; therefore they do not require prior skin testing. They have a high degree of stability and safety, are biodegradeable, and long-lasting (4-6 months).
