Microdermabrasion consists of superficially abrading the skin with fine, sharp crystals and a vacuum closed-loop suction device to remove the crystals, along with dead skin, oil, and surface debris. The treatment exerts affects on the epidermis, the outermost layer of skin. This creates an exfoliating effect that removes superficial skin layers and improves clogged pores and overall skin texture.
We use microdermabrasion for depressed acne scars, mild facial wrinkles, clogged pores, traumatic scars, enlarged pores, brown spots, stretch marks, melasma, keratosis pilaris, and to improve skin texture. Results are generally more subtle than other treatment modalities but the procedure has fewer side effects and no downtime. It is safe for use in all skin types. We also use microdermabrasion with biorestorative skin cream containing growth factors.
