Isolaz
Isolaz is the second generation PHOTOPNEUMATIC device from Aesthera.
Isolaz combines vacuum pressure with a powerful source of Intense Pulsed Light. Isolaz is faster working, more powerful and more versatile than its older sister, the Aesthera device, and it is virtually painless. Dr. Mandrea is the first physician to use Isolaz in Chicago and suburbs.
Painless Isolaz® therapies with deep pore purification include:
- deep pore cleansing and for treatment of Acne (dramatic improvements of pustular acne have been seen after a series of 5 Isolaz treatments, 2 weeks apart)
- clearing the redness around the active and subsiding pustules (pimples) and thus preventing continuing scar formation. We know now that persistent redness, even around a dried up pustule, allows continued scar formation. Isolaz, however cannot improve the scars, once they are formed.
- from a long experience with acne we know that the best results are obtained when the Isolaz is used in combination with injections of an anti-inflammatory drug into the pustules (pimples and diligent application of prescription anti acne agents).
- for treatment of acne scars, we have 3 levels of treatment:
- the Smoothbeam Laser
- the Pixel CO2 fractional Laser Resurfacing
- the Luxar CO2 Laser Resurfacing with Computer Pattern Generator

Increased incidence of Basal Cell Carcinomas in sun tanners
Previous studies have demonstrated an increased incidence of Squamous Cell Carcinomas and Malignant Melanomas in tanning bed users. Now, a recent article shows an increase of early onset of Basal Cell Carcinomas among users of tanning beds.
A new, totally non toxic pediculicide (Lice killer) by the name of ULESFIA is now available in pharmacies.
