The Erbium Laser produces a superficial peeling of the skin by using a powerful beam of light. It is calibrated to remove skin precisely at the same level as it sweeps over the treated area.
The Erbium Laser is very useful for removal of blemishes, shallow scars and shallow wrinkles. It can be used on the face, neck and chest. Also on the hands. It is not useful for removing moderate or deep wrinkles or scars, for which we use the Fractionated CO2 Laser and the Traditional CO2 Laser.
The Erbium Laser treatment is an office procedure and is done under local anesthesia. There is a downtime of 4-7 days. More than one treatment is usually necessary.
