Artefill® is the only FDA-approved permanent cosmetic injectable for treatment of nasolabial folds. Achieve PERMANENT correction of these indicators of aging during a safe and convenient office visit.
Artefill® is composed of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres suspended in purified bovine collagen. PMMA has been safely used for 6 decades in implantable medical devices. Because of potential allergy to the bovine collagen component, a small skin test is required 4 weeks prior to treatment. If the skin test is negative, treatment may proceed. Many patients do require a second treatment for optimal correction a few weeks after the first, but the results are then permanent!
Artefill® does cost more per syringe than other traditional non-permanent fillers, but over time is clearly more cost-effective, as repeat treatments are unnecessary.

Increased incidence of Basal Cell Carcinomas in sun tanners
