"I became familiar with the both Dr. Mandreas’ and their practice when I lived in Chicago. Due to the level of service and their superior results, I continue to visit Lakeview Dermatology via a yearly Northern pilgrimage from Houston. Yes, there are good dermatologists in the South, but I have not found any that consistently deliver great service with a humane and sensitive touch-and at a reasonable price.

As a current job seeker and a woman of 53, it’s important that I look as youthful as possible. Therefore, I have continued to fly in for the Thermage for my face. I am not exaggerating when I say that most people think I am 38-42. I frequently receive comments from young and older individuals on how great my skin looks and the fact that it glows. I have no sagging in the jowl line area and no hooding around my eyes. Thermage has been a great investment in maintaining the tone and elasticity of my skin.

It’s also impressive that the staff of Lakeview Dermatology stays current with the latest technology and procedures. During my visit in March I noted that their new Thermage machine had an superior delivery system and Susan, the nurse specialist, had learned its benefits. "I first met Dr. Mandrea in the summer of 2007 when I was referred to him by my PCP to look at a brown spot on my face. I went and I was impressed by his gentle manner and informative professionalism. He explained carefully what he was going to do to remove the spot and reassured me that I had nothing to worry about.

I asked about the other brown spots, moles, warts, skin tags etc. growing on my face and neck due to age and heritage and he said, yes, they could be removed. He did remove them. And for the first time in my life (I am now 60), I felt good about my face. Then I had some Isolaz treatments and my close friends and relatives were asking me if I had changed makeup, who was giving me facials, what was going on. I even had a young male coworker say that I looked younger.

I couldn't be happier with my "maintenance" treatments. I view them like auto tune-ups, necessary to keep my face looking its best. I have never felt so positive about my looks. At my age, that is important. One of the women from my craft classes has started seeing Dr. Mandrea and I know several other, including my sister, who want to start seeing him.

I do not consider myself vain. I am realistic about aging. But it is quite thrilling to know that at 60, my skin looks better than it ever has. My son is a manager for a multinational marketing firm stationed in London. One of his projects was to investigate French women's approach to fashion and makeup. He told me something that I fully understand now, he said French women spend more money on their faces than they do on clothes, shoes, accessories, hair etc. One French woman that he interviewed said that they can always put on a new dress, but you can never buy new skin.

So we must become educated consumers of beauty care and do what is best for ourselves. I have been very happy with Dr. Mandrea and his care and I would recommend him to anyone I know.
