Severe Acne Rosacea
Condition
Severe Acne Rosacea of many years duration, with Rhinophyma (enlargement of oil glands and excessive scar tissue).
Treatment
Following the resection of the rhinophyma, a more normal appearance of the nose was evident. The 2nd "After" picture was taken recently, 8 years later. Notice that as a result of the procedure, the acne rosacea activity also subsided.

Tightening of the skin with Thermage. Note the prominent jowls in "Before" pictures. Jowls are significantly reduced in "After" pictures. The 3rd picture shows a reduction in facial wrinkles after Thermage treatment.

The lower lids are loose; the upper lids are redundant and form a fold (tent)

Melolabial Wrinkles and Folds
Treatment
Radiesse. Middle aged man with melolabial wrinkles and some fat atrophy in the cheeks. Also, acne scars. After Radiesse treatment, the melolabial folds as well as the cheek fat atrophy are much less noticeable. The acne scars are slightly improved.

Increased incidence of Basal Cell Carcinomas in sun tanners
Previous studies have demonstrated an increased incidence of Squamous Cell Carcinomas and Malignant Melanomas in tanning bed users. Now, a recent article shows an increase of early onset of Basal Cell Carcinomas among users of tanning beds.
