Psoriasis and Hypertension
A recent article in the Archives of Dermatology (April 2009) described an increased risk of Diabetes and Hypertension in patients with Psoriasis.
A possible explanation for the increased risk of hypertension may be that Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory condition. It is known that chronic inflammation is a risk factor for hypertension.
These facts, along with the connection between Psoriasis and Obesity, point to Psoriasis being a systemic disorder.
