Leg and Facial Spider Veins

Leg and Facial Spider Veins - Chicago Dermatologist Article
Lakeview Dermatology Board Certified Dermatologists have successfully treated numerous patients with leg spider veins and facial spider veins in our dermatology clinics in Chicago, Park Ridge, Orland Park, and Palos Heights. At Lakeview Dermatology, we treat Spider Veins only, using injections of sclerosing solutions, which have remained the gold standard of treatment for leg spider veins. Our dermatologists use Diolite which is very effective in the treatment of facial spider veins, dilated blood vessels (telangiectasias), cherry angiomas, freckles, lentigo, liver spots, and some other small brown growths. Milia (tiny white cysts) can also be treated by modifying the technique.

Eyes by Thermage

Eyes by Thermage - Chicago Dermatologist ArticleEyes by Thermage - Chicago Dermatology ArticleEyes by Thermage has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles of the upper and lower lids.
Eyes by Thermage reduces hooding of the upper lids and produces a tighter, smoother look of the upper and lower lids. It can improve the dark under eye circles. The same monopolar radio frequency current is used as in the treatment of the cheeks and jowls to heat the collagen. A plastic shield protects the eye.
Sometimes the improvement is immediately noticeable but often it takes up to 6 months to see the optimum benefit. With the new protocol, 95% of patients are pleased with the results.

Alexandrite treatment for unwanted hair and spots

Alexandrite treatment for unwanted hair and spots - Chicago Dermatologist ArticleAlexandrite treatment for unwanted hair and spots - Chicago Dermatology ArticleThe Apogee Alexandrite 5500 is one of the most reliable lasers to combat unwanted dark hairs and dark spots on the skin, such as freckles, sunspots, melasma or age spots.
The Alexandrite (Alex) laser uses a 755 nm wavelength, which is absorbed highly by melanin in the skin and hair follicles. The Alex laser works by emitting powerful laser energy into the targeted tissue ( pigmented lesion or hair follicle) that causes subsequent lightening to the lesions and destruction of the follicle without damaging the neighboring tissue.

For laser hair reduction 4-8 treatments may be necessary as the laser is only able to destroy hair follicles that are in the active growth phase. Because, hairs exist in three cycles (active growing or anagen; transitional or catagen; resting or telogen), several treatments are needed to adequently catch different hairs in the active cycle. After each treatment you will notice finer, lighter hairs with slower re-growth to each area treated.read more
